Climate change is the greatest challenge of our time, with global warming and extreme weather events already hitting vulnerable communities the hardest.

To capture this reality, a collective of talented artists from Hamburg in the Eastern Cape, South Africa—renowned worldwide for their vibrant and intricate embroidery art—have created a visual masterpiece. Through colourful stitching, they tell the story of how climate impacts are shaping their lives, and highlight the importance of sustainable livelihoods in building climate resilience.

This work arrives at a critical moment for both people and nature, as global leaders prepare to gather for COP28 climate negotiations in Dubai. It’s not only a piece of art, but also a powerful reminder of the human stories behind the climate crisis.
